Creating a Checklist for Our Vacation
By Amanda7787 on Aug 13, 2009 in Travel
One of the things that really drives my husband nuts is that I love to make lists. The reason that I make them is so that I don’t forget anything, and for the most part, lists help me to attain that goal. On the other hand, he just wings it, and usually whatever we are doing, he forgets something.
So, when it came to planning our vacation, I decided to volunteer to be in charge of organizing and getting everything ready for the trip. He didn’t have a problem with that, so I sat down and started making a list. I could see the look of disgust on his face, but since he wasn’t doing any of the planning, he kept his mouth shut.
Some of the things that I have added to the list are:
- Packing clothes for us and the kids
- Booking the Orlando rental car
- Booking the flight to Orlando
- Booking the hotels
- Pick up traveler’s checks, and get a prepaid Visa just in case something goes wrong
You know, when I look at this list, it sure doesn’t look big, though I decided not to bore you with the clothing that we are bringing – that will probably take up a whole page of paper on its’ own.
I should also add confirming Orlando car rental to the list as well, so we avoid the mix up we had when we traveled to Canada. I sure can’t wait until we get there.
