My kid is Going to Jail

My son, in a stroke of brilliant wisdom, decided to steal a car and go joy riding. That would be bad enough, but this is the second time this has happened. The first time it happened, after his arraignment I contacted a bail bond agent and was able to buy his way out of jail. When it came time for his sentencing hearing, he was nowhere to be found. About a week after the hearing I was able to track him down, and drag him in to the lawyer’s office.

The lawyer was able to reschedule the hearing, and since this was his first offense, jail time was avoided. He did end up on probation (which he is still on), and there was a lot of community service and fines that I don’t care to think about.

So on this go around I contacted several agents that do Lancaster bail bonds, but they all informed me that none of the California bail bonds agents would touch this one with a ten foot pole. From a bail bonds standpoint he is considered a flight risk. You see, they assess each individual as to how big a risk they are taking. It is very similar to how an insurance company would do a risk assessment on one of their clients. So it looks like he is going to have to stay in jail at least until his hearing.
