Dealing With Allergies in the Bedroom

I was watching a feature on National Geographic about body defenses last week and learned that even in rooms where we think we are safe, dusts and mites are everywhere.

I have allergies so I need to take extra care especially in things that many think are too trivial.

After having watched the show, I had to rush to the grocery and buy an air disinfectant.  Of course I first asked my doctor friend about what kind to buy or else I get allergic to the disinfectant itself.

I also made sure that every morning, I dust off the frame of the king bed.  It is a lot of work considering its size but I really don’t mind as long as I am safe from allergens.

The headboard has intricate carvings with holes and crevices and these become ideal lurking place for dust and mites.  I use a powerful vacuum cleaner to suck them and then wipe it off with a damped cloth that contains disinfectant.

I also do the same with my day bed which is placed near the patio and very open to the outside dust.  I do not place fibrous foam on it so it will not accumulate too much dust.

As an allergic person, I have to give much attention on my bed because this is a place where there is too much contact with my body.
