Luckily, there are still artists and crafters out there who are making one-of-a-kind and limited edition items. Those of us who want to have things that are different from everyone else can look at the products made by these people when we want to make new purchases.

For example, instead of getting dishes from IKEA, we could get dishes from a manufacturer like Richard Ginori. This is a well-known company that makes only twenty five pieces at a time. This means that while there may be a couple dozen people out there with an item like yours, there won’t be millions who have the same thing.

The only problem with this is that buying rare items tends to get expensive. It’s easy to keep prices down when you are mass producing something. It’s not so easy when you’re making something by hand and doing only a limited edition run. If you want something unique and of value then you’ll probably have to pay a little bit more.

One of the dogs I fell in love with was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  A smallish dog, the one in class was just so cute!  I had seen Corgis on TV, but never in person.Another breed I had never heard of before was the Rhodesian Ridgeback.  My husky fell in love with the Ridgeback in class, which was understandable.  He was a very regal looking dog.  And very well behaved, despite the fact he was in obedience school. Once the classes were over, we even arranged some puppy play dates.  I’m glad that my girl is now behaving and it was nice to see some breeds that I wasn’t previously familiar with.

It seems like all I ever see is tile or a wood chopping-block sort of counter top on those built ins.  But both of those would weather so quickly in our thin, dry air and snowy winters here in Colorado.  I can’t imagine why people wouldn’t use granite-isn’t that an incredibly hard substance that stands up to weather by design?  And you could go and buy some little remnant and have it cut, I would think.  Some pattern that isn’t popular should be really quite affordable. Even if the color is ugly, who cares? Then all you would have to do is put in one of those drop in grills.  And it would be so sanitary, too!

Maybe I’m sounding naïve and people are already putting these in-I just haven’t seen them yet.But since wood would split and grout would crack, well, this just seems like the best option to me!

You own gold jewelry or gold coins and you’re sick of having them around your house. You want to get rid of junk like that but what do you do with it? It doesn’t make sense to just throw it away.

Here are three terrific ways that you can recycle gold jewelry and gold coins:

1. Pass it down. The best thing that you can do with these things is to give it to someone else who will use it and appreciate it more than you do. If it’s valuable, gift it to a friend. If it’s not, find someone young in the family who would enjoy using it for dress-up.
2. Sell it to a pawn shop. Pawn shops are great places to recycle your stuff. You can sell gold jewelry and gold coins to the shop, get some cash for your sale and know that the stuff will probably end up going to a good home.
3. Get it melted. If your gold isn’t worth anything as is then you might want to get it melted down and sell the metal itself. You still get a little bit of cash and the metal is recycled into something that can be used again in the future.

Almost everything these days can be re-used or recycled. Do this with your gold whenever you start clearing out your jewelry box.

The lady that hosted the weekend hired her mother to cook and the food was a far cry from “mother’s cooking”. Our gourmet Saturday night banquet consisted of chicken fingers and French fries. I was not too sure what was gourmet about that.

After the spa hot tub was set up and apparently ready for us, I decided to get away from the horrible entertainment and go for a soak. The water was as cold as a mountain stream. I complained and they “fixed it”. I decided I would try again and this time it was so hot, I figured that they were trying to make me into soup for supper.

What a time I did not have. I got an invitation in the mail the other day for this year’s retreat. I had to laugh. I don’t even think I am going to send back the “no thank you” reply.  No thank you.

We will both walk away from this marriage having learned something I hope.  The mediator will work with us from the legal standpoint, and as I understand it also from an emotional or psychological standpoint.   This will be really helpful, though like I said, my spouse and I do not have an adversarial relationship, it will be sad to see it come to an end, though it must.

The lawyer was able to reschedule the hearing, and since this was his first offense, jail time was avoided. He did end up on probation (which he is still on), and there was a lot of community service and fines that I don’t care to think about.

So on this go around I contacted several agents that do Lancaster bail bonds, but they all informed me that none of the California bail bonds agents would touch this one with a ten foot pole. From a bail bonds standpoint he is considered a flight risk. You see, they assess each individual as to how big a risk they are taking. It is very similar to how an insurance company would do a risk assessment on one of their clients. So it looks like he is going to have to stay in jail at least until his hearing.
