Things My Doctor Taught Me

It took me many years before I chose a doctor. I would avoid going to them at all costs. I preferred to wait until I reached a state of emergency and then to head to the hospital. Eventually, though, I finally did grow up and select a doctor. I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. I’ve learned so much from her that I can’t even imagine what life would have been like if I hadn’t found her.

The main thing that I’ve learned from my doctor is how to take proper care of myself. I’ve learned about the right diet for my body. (It turns out it’s not the same diet that I’d been trying to stick to after reading about its great results online!) I learned about the benefits of certain types of exercise (like yoga) and the amount of exercise that I need to stay healthy.

However, I’ve also learned some other random things from my doctor. I learned that doctors have a special kind of insurance called physician disability insurance which protects them in case they get injured and can’t do their work. I’ve learned that many nurses choose to take positions that allow them to travel from one hospital to another around the country. These are not things I needed to know but knowing them has made me a more well-rounded person. I have my doctor to thank for that.

San Diego, CA hotels and extended stay saved my degree

When I was attending college at the University of San Diego, I decided to study the mating habits of a small, very rare insect that only lives in a few places in the world. One of those places was in the southern most river delta area of Little River, Tennessee.

Since I was going to need to be there for at least 4 complete life cycles of the insect, I decided that an extended stay hotel in Alcoa, TN would be the nicest place I could live during that 6 month period.

My time in Tennessee was relatively uneventful, other than the successful completion of my observations and the my beginning to write my thesis on the mating and life cycles of the bugs. It was when I returned home to San Diego that I was in for shock and excitement.

While I was away, the person whom I sublet my apartment to decided to have a little party. In my absence, and apparent amnesia on my landlord’s part, my sublet person was evicted. Since they were paying the rent directly to the owners, I never knew what had happened.

Imagine how shocked I was on my return! Fortunately, there are a great number of San Diego, CA hotels, with many in Mission Valley’s Hotel Circle. I was able to find another extended stay place, finish my degree program and never sublet an apartment again!

Stressful Times

I have been under so much stress these days. I’ve been working on the leed exam prep and have been completely overwhelmed. This leed certification has been a lot of hard work. I really want to pass the exam though, and I think I just need to study a bit more. I have seen so many articles on leed existing buildings and being a green company. If I just make it through the week, I’ll be much better off. I’ll be able to hold the certification in my hand and have a true sense of accomplishment. I can’t begin to imagine the benefits of being able to say I am a LEED professional. I might even look into starting a new business, or look into a per contract basis. Before I do any full time work though, I think I’m going to travel

I’ve always wanted to see the great pyramids at Giza, and I would like to backpack. I think I’ll start saving my money over the next couple of months and see where I am. Hopefully I’ll be able to pay for everything within a couple months. Sure it might be a little crazy, but I’ve had my nose the grindstone for a couple years now and I feel like it is time for me to break out! Once this certification is over, I should have some time to look into travel plans. I can’t wait, the future is bright, and I have a lot of places I want to see before I really grow up.

Obtaining a High demand criminal justice associate degree online

Criminal justice has numerous branches and can be a gratifying occupation for someone who wants to make a real difference. If you or anyone you know is interest in entering this gratifying and fulfilling profession, they could look into obtaining a criminal justice associate degree online.

Outside of joining the police academy, you can look into jobs like forensics, crime scene investigation, corrections, probation, or even the CIA entry level opportunities which can be entered via an online criminal justice degree.

Of course some job titles, like homicide detective or FBI Agent are achieved with seniority and are rarely just walked into without street beat experience. Even so, you can be well on your way towards your law related career goals by studying various aspects of criminal law online.

A bachelors degree can also be expanded upon, so if an individual wanted to study for their bachelors to move ahead, they could certainly do so. There are online curriculums that could facilitate that objective as well.

If you wish to be a part of something meaningful then there is not better career choice than that of criminal justice.

Golf Schools vs. Golf Academies

If you are interested in going to school to get an education in golf then you have probably noticed that there are two very different types of schools that are available to you. The first set of schools is general golf schools which can be found almost anywhere in the country. The second set of schools is golf academies which are located only in the nation’s golf capitals. Both of these types of schools can lead their students to getting careers in golf but there are some definite differences between the two types of schools.

Golf schools tend to prepare their students for really basic jobs in the industry of golf. They usually are best for students who want to work locally in the golf industry in areas that aren’t necessarily known for their golf courses or for great golf careers. For the person who just wants to teach golf to kids in his hometown, golf schools are great.

For those people who have bigger aspirations, it is better to look at golf academies. These are schools that teach the industry of golf at a more professional level. Located in golf capitals like Phoenix and Florida, these schools allow their students to network within the industry and ultimately to get highly professional jobs in various aspects of the industry of golf.

How to get Divorce Mediation

Divorce mediation is one option that couples should consider when they are getting divorced but want to keep separation costs down and divorce proceedings as amicable as possible.

A Fun Place in San Antonio

Recently I took an information technology security training course that would teach me how to pass the CISSP exam. The CISSP is the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification, but I guess that is kind of irrelevant to this story. Anyway, the course was held in San Antonio Texas, and I have to say that I had an absolute blast down on their historic Riverwalk. That is where I spent pretty much all of my time when I wasn’t in class learning about IT security.

One evening I went to the wildest restaurants that I have ever been to. The place was right there on the riverwalk, and it was called Dick’s Last Resort. The concept of this place is that the servers and staff give you a healthy dose of abuse while you are there. They are not outright mean to you, but definitely sarcastic and somewhat mean spirited.

While I was chowing down on a very messy sandwich, I asked our waiter if I could get a few extra napkins. He obliged me by grabbing a great big stack of napkins and throwing the whole stack up in the air over our table. You would think I would have learned, but when he brought me another cocktail, I asked for a straw. I should have seen this coming when he reached in his apron and tossed a handful of straws at me. That was a really fun place, and you can bet I’ll be back next time I am there.

The Importance of Education Today

If you are a parent raising children today then you almost certainly assume that you should be saving money in order to send them to college. We place a lot of importance on the college education today and believe that it is the only way to secure a financially stable future. However, it’s not quite the cut-and-dry issue that people assume it to be.

A college education can definitely open doors for you that wouldn’t be opened as easily without that education. It allows you to acquire specialized knowledge at advanced levels. It also allows you to network with a wide group of people who would be able to propel you further in your chosen career.

However, a college education does not guarantee that you are going to be able to achieve a great job or even financial security. And getting rich doesn’t necessarily require a college education. Savvy folks with a lot of drive can start small companies that sell for millions of dollars without ever having stepped foot in a college classroom.

Parents who have children that are considering not going straight to college should take this news with a grain of salt. Yes, a college education is a good thing. But it’s not the only way to make it in society today and it’s not right for everyone. Sometimes the process of finding your own path is more important than anything else!
