Let golf training aid your career opportunities
By sparchi on Jun 17, 2009 in Careers
If you need help with your game of golf you would buy some sort of golf training aid. Then you’d spend hour after hour practicing with it to allow your swing arc to tighten up, or your hands to grip the club shaft with more authority. There are probably tens of thousands of golf training aids on the market at any given time. If you need help with your game, get one of those.
On the other hand, if you need help with your career and you are a big fan of the game of golf you might consider some sort of golf training. There are a number of very fine business golf education management schools out there that will teach you everything about the business of running a golf course.
Golf business management is a growing profession that has a lot of room for folks just like you and me. In the past it did seem the only way to own or operate a pro shop or golf course was to be at the end of you PGA Tour career.
Today, nothing is further from the truth. All it takes is a little golf career and training time, and you’ll be introduced to a world of opportunities.

I’ve been seeing a lot of these kinds of blog posts lately. It really seems like golf management training is a legitimate field. Maybe I could try it if my job goes south…

I’ve really been considering this. I’ve always loved golf, and it would be great to get a career in that field.

I don’t know about this. How legitimate is this? It seems like something that should be left to the pro golfers retired.

Oh, this is legit. I recently graduated from golf management training, and just got a job at the local resort. Easily, too.

Sounds like a great idea! I should have done that when I was younger. Unfortunately, I can’t just up and change careers, especially with the economy the way it is.

That could really improve my game…I’ve been on the amateur circuit for a while, but just can’t get past that hump. Maybe this is the answer.

I’m not sure about this. I’m sure the management training is useful, but golf college? How can that help more than a personal trainer or something like that, which would likely be cheaper?
